Flower Growing & Embroidery Group
Stitch-Up CIC (Meanwood Community Centre)
Following on from the success of a 6-week flower growing group at Meanwood Community Centre with the support of Stitch-Up CIC & Incredible Edible Meanwood Stitch-Up are now launching a friendly 4-week summer course exploring flower growing and hand embroidery with Elnaz Yazdani.
Throughout the 4 weeks you will learn beginners gardening skills, flower cutting & simple hand embroidery stitches to combine cut flowers and embroidery.
Embroider From Nature - 2 week Course
Date: Friday 7th & 14th August •

Location: Sunny Bank Mills
Experiment with hand stitches and natural colours to create your own unique piece of embroidery art, Elnaz Yazdani dries and collects flowers from her allotment, garden, and walks to use as inspiration and experiment with. You will learn a range of exciting hand embroidery stitches to apply these elements of nature onto natural fabric using hand embroidery.
The course consists of two weeks, the first looking at flower and plant observations, collage and beginners stitching. The second session explores techniques and ideas to combine nature with embroidery in an experimental way. Allowing you to explore process, nature, and connection in your own time.

Between Stitch & Silence
Take part in a new embroidery project with artist Elnaz & social anthropologist Rebecca. Are you encountering fertility issues and in the process of trying to conceive via assisted conception? Join us for a series of embroidery workshops ran by Elnaz as part of a PHD project in Social Anthropology where we will explore and represent your experience in stitch.
